Become a tenement detective!

Glasgow City Heritage Trust in partnership with Govan Cross THI invite you on an investigative walk around Govan’s traditional tenements – hunting for common building issues and potential repairs. Through an informal talk, interactive walk, and grown-up scavenger hunt for homeowners, tenants, and building managers, you will learn what you’re looking at, and how to fix it!

At this event you will:

  • Learn how tenements are designed to work!
  • Empower yourself to identify common building problems and their often simple solutions!
  • Become a defender of Glasgow’s traditional tenement homes – your own, and your community’s!

We will meet at Elderpark Library for tea/coffee and a brief talk by Niall Murphy, GCHT’s Deputy Director, followed by a short walk around the block, looking at buildings and defects in context, then return the library for a short wrap-up session.

Govan Cross THI and Glasgow City Heritage Trust are funded by Glasgow City Council, Historic Environment Scotland, and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
