Date: July 16, 2026
Start time: 19:00
End time: 20:00
Venue: GCHT, 54 Bell Street, G1 1LQ & online via Zoom

Sitting high above the river and the city for almost 900 years, Glasgow’s oldest building remains a powerful symbol of the city’s origins and long history. Drawing pilgrims, merchants, and wealth to medieval Glasgow, our cathedral transformed a small religious settlement into a thriving centre of power and trade.

One of the oldest working churches in Scotland, its story stretches back to the days of the early saints and then even further to pre-Christian times when water and natural springs were seen as living, sacred forces.

Join public historian Fergus Sutherland to find out more about the stories behind this iconic building.

This will be a hybrid event, running in-person and online. Select ‘In Person’ to join us at 54 Bell Street or ‘Online’ to watch via Zoom.
