***SOLD OUT*** Glasgow HERstory Walking Tour

Event Details

Date: March 13, 2026

Start time: 13:00

End time: 15:00

Venue: Meet outside Glasgow City Chambers. On Cochrane Street, across from Piper Whisky Bar.

Glasgow’s ability to “grow and flourish” has been in large part due to the contributions of many women who have helped shape the city that we know and love. But their stories have, for the most part, gone untold and credit has not been given to their achievements. This tour hopes to rectify that in some small measure.

Over the course of the tour, you will learn about just some of the incredible women who have made significant contributions to Glasgow, including the women behind the 1915 Rent Strikes, a noted abolitionist who caught the attention of the Queen, student campaigners who helped change UK law and of course our city’s patron saint and “mother”.

Walking route:
Urban streets, mostly flat route with gentle rise along High Street. Some steps may be involved. Easy walking pace.
