Explore Glasgow’s love-hate relationship with Brutalism through this interactive multimedia exhibition and trail, curated by Rachel Loughran and featuring the work of Glasgow based illustrator Nebo Peklo (Natalie Tweedie), well known for her distinctive illustrations of buildings and places in the city.
Journey from Anniesland Tower to the Gallowgate Twins gaining fascinating insights into the city’s Brutalist buildings past and present, with commentary from leading architects, academics and writers, as well as first-hand stories from those who lived and worked in these monumental structures.

How to do the trail
find the prints
Find the eight Brutal Glasgow prints around the city, then scan the QR codes to explore the buildings they depict. Six of those buildings are still standing, with most of the prints close to the buildings they depict- so why not go and have a look at them? Find the print and building locations below.
At each print location, you’ll find booklets and a stamp. Collect all eight stamps in a booklet to complete the trail. We recommend finishing your trail at Glasgow City Heritage Trust, 54 Bell Street, G1 1LQ. Show your completed booklet to a member of staff to access rewards – and if you’ve collected all eight stamps, you can enter our prize draw to win some amazing Brutalist themed gifts from our friends at Spaceplay.

The BOAC

About Princes Square: Originally built in 1841 as a merchant square in yellow sandstone, the Grade B listed building was transformed in the 1980s into the elegant indoor centre shoppers know today, and was voted Scotland’s favourite historic building in 2017.
Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat 09:00- 18:00, Sun 11:00-17:00
Accessibility: The main entrance does not have completely level access, but there is a permanent ramp/slope, and there is a public lift serving LG, ground, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors.
