Workshop: Victorian Stencilling

Victorian stencilling, a hand’s on approach to recreating stencilled decoration:

From traditional tenement flat to Art Deco pavilion, period architecture means original stencilled walls covered over time by layers of paint and for new owners a chance to recreate original stencilled schemes.

Elisabeth Viguie Culshaw from The Lansdowne House of Stencils has a 25 years expertise in the field and she will take you through the stages of sourcing elements and designing a stencil for your period home. From wall tracing to copyright free publications Elisabeth will take you through the build up of the design and finally the application technique. You will leave the workshop with a hand cut design ready to use and will have practised your stencilling technique on a ready made template.

This workshop will run on the 19th of November 2016 at 54 Bell Street from 10 am to 4 pm.
