Join Glasgow City Heritage Trust for a one-day practical workshop exploring stencilling in the style of one of Glasgow’s greatest architects, Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson.
As well known for his stunning interiors as his original buildings, Alexander Thomson is one of Glasgow’s greatest architects. Thomson was very well known for his love of historic Greek style design where the traditional Anthemion and Palmetto design features. Elisabeth Viguie Culshaw from The Lansdowne House of Stencils returns to Glasgow City Heritage Trust to run a one-day workshop on stencilling in the ‘Greek’ Thomson style, taking you through the stages of sourcing elements and designing a stencil for your period home. Elisabeth has 25 years expertise in the field and will take you through wall tracing to copyright free publications, the build up of the design and finally the application technique. You will leave the workshop with a hand cut design ready to use and will have practised your stencilling technique on a ready made template.
Suitable for beginners and more advanced crafters. Ages 16 and over.
