Weekend Workshop: Stone Carving

Saturday 7th March 2020 | 10am – 4pm | 54 Bell Street, Glasgow

This day long course is perfect for those who would like to discover the art of stone carving. Participants will learn the techniques of cutting and carving relief into limestone from award-winning sculptor Simon Burns-Cox. Using the tools of the trade you will cut lines, curves, and forms.

The workshop will run from 10am-4pm with a break for lunch. Lunch and tea/coffee will be provided, along with all protective equipment and materials.

Participants are advised to wear close-toed shoes.

Simon Burns-Cox is an award-winning sculptor and stone carver based in Edinburgh. He is an Associate Member of the Letter Exchange and a Licenciate Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, London. In addition to sculpting on commission, he runs training courses for stone carvers of all levels.

£90 per person, including all equipment, materials and lunch.
